Review: Hello Stranger
Posted on 23 January 2011
Finally I was able to find myself a copy of “Hello Stranger” starring Chantawich Tanasewi and Nuengtida Sopon. I pretty laughed my heart out throughout the movie, from start to end. This movie opened with our main actor being driven to the airport by his friends (in the back truck), drunk as he can be. Then our actress was driven to the airport by her strict boyfriend. As soon as the movie opened I already started laughing. The first meeting with our main actor and actress started out pretty funny, he was calling his friend to yell at him and then she was calling her boyfriend. The point of this phone conversation was if you did not know they were on the phone you would had thought they were talking to each other. It was a good laugh.
The thing about this movie is… we do not know the actor or actress’s name what so ever. Yes start to end, we’ve never found out their names (Hello Stranger). This movie is about a guy traveling to Korea for a 7 day tour and a girl traveling to Korea for a friends wedding and also to tour. She lied to her boyfriend that she was going with a friend but it turned out she was going alone. The guy was dropped to the airport DRUNK by his friends so all he had on him was a backpack with nothing else. He was drunk and missed his tour bus and seek the help from our main actress since he cannot speak a lick of Korean nor does he know where to go since his tour bus won’t return for two days. They began to tour Korea together and agreed that they do not need to know each other’s name because after the trip they’ll never see each other again and if they don’t know each other’s name and who they are no hard feelings and no emotion will build up towards each other.
I have to say this was such a good movie! I enjoyed the good laugh. Some jokes were hard to understand since the subtitles that we had wasn’t the greatest but it was enough to understand what was going on. I really like the chemistry between the main actor and actresses. They were so cute together!!! If anyone wants a good laugh and loves Thai comedy, watch it! I highly recommend it!!! really!
By the way, I love the OST to this movie, very good!!!
