Wind of Changes, Blogging Style
Posted on 30 October 2010
I had been blogging for 2 and a half years now, I cannot believe that time sure has flown by quick and from blogging for such a long time I’ve learned that my blogging style has changed and the purpose of my blogging has turned a different road.
Honestly when I first started blogging, or I would say, when I was considering blogging I wanted to showcase my photograph as I went through photography school. I started out with mozemoua.wordpress.com and it was to show case the progress of my photography skills which that was my main goal when I finally decided to start a blog, but before long I notice that I started to blog about Thai lakorns, sharing music here and there and what not. As time flown by I started to really focus my blog on traditional Hmong, music and movies, almost all things Hmong which includes Hmong entertainments, history, lessons and etc.
In life many things starts to change, even we as human beings starts to change, we learn new things and forget old things and keep whatever we wish to remember and hold onto it. Just like blogging, since I’ve started, my blog has changed a lot, less of photography and more on Hmong related information. I know I had been focusing my blog a lot on Hmong values, traditions, entertainments and etc, why? Well throughout life I’ve always never really cared about traditional Hmong, I never really bothered about anything and at times thought a lot of those Hmong beliefs, teaching, ways of life and etc were nothing important to me and never thought I would care so much about it. Now that I am older I’ve realized that we’ve lost a lot of our history and our ways of life. Many Hmong-Americans had forgotten where they came from and why they are here. Many of them cannot speak Hmong correctly and many of them are well forgotten what Hmong is.
As I’ve learn that my blog really helps me start to preserve some old myths, stories, histories and even new and old Hmong entertainments. I had received many personal messages from many “silent” readers who thank me for keeping my blog informative and that had really motivated me to write more about the Hmong people/community and less of almost everything else.
Now I’ve found a purpose for my blog, a purpose that was not even thought of when I first started and I am proud of the new purpose of my blog. I enjoy blogging and will blog about many things to come.

I think we blog about who we are and I’ve learned a lot about the Hmong culture from you.
We blog on whatever is on our minds
Nicki, it’s true, we do blog about whatever is on our mind.. I hardly ever hold back.
