Crab Dish
Posted on 16 September 2010
I was over at my cousin’s house a few weeks ago and she made some crabs for me, I absolutely loved the crab so I took her recipe and mixed it up a bit to make it my own. It’s a very easy dish to make, I must had made this dish under 30 minutes. first you buy some crabs, I am unsure what these crabs are called but their claws are blue. First what I did was I cut the crabs into pieces and then smashed them so that it will be easier to eat once cooked. Instead of using oil I used water so what I did was made sure my wok had water in it then throw the crabs and some diced garlic in a wok and let the crab cook. While its cooking I chopped some ginger, onion, jalapeno peppers, cilantro and green onion. I first chopped the ginger since that goes right after the crab. I let it cook for a while until the crabs starts to turn red. I then went ahead and add my onion, jalapeno peppers and then add some oyster sauce. Let it cook for a while and then added a can of “minced crabs in spice” and let it cook for a while then once I am sure its ready I add the green onion and cilantro. Let it cook for a bit and then its ready to serve with sticky rice. This dish is super good with sticky rice, too bad I got home late and was too tired to make any sticky rice. But it was still very good!

This is my favorite dish, I also add lots of ginger to mine.
The last time I cooked purple sticky rice with coconut, I had to much and put it in zip lock bags (per one person serving size) and put it in a freezer. When I want to eat it, just put in microwave for 3 minutes and it’s as good as the original. This saves lots of time when you’re on the run.
Nye, thanks for the idea of the sticky rice! I’ll be sure to do that next time!!!! I love ginger and can eat ginger with almost anything.
