Hmongtown

Here is a place I really like and spent most of my vacation at!! Yes really, HMONG TOWN, it’s a 7 days Hmong flea market on Como Ave. in St. Paul MN. This is a one stop shop for anything Hmong. When entering into Hmongtown, you may find it’s hard to find a parking spot (on the weekends) and once you finally find that one parking space, you see yourself amongst many many Hmong people and loud banging music from different movie and music booths. They sale everything you can think of that is Hmong related. The first building to your left there are vendors who sales Hmong clothes, newest fashion, shoes, movies, dvds and etc then walk straight ahead and you’l find yourself right in front of the food court. Here you’ll find many great dishes (such as the dishes at New Years and tournaments and even dishes at traditional Hmong parties). You’ll find yourself in front of many booths with great food, the question is, who should I buy it from, they all looks very delicious!! The Nava (tri-color) are very yummy and honestly everything I’ve ate there is very good.
There are outside booths and indoor booths. There are 2 buildings and about 3 half buildings and an outside veggie stall including the indoor veggies stalls. This is a huge Hmong flea market, it took me a few days to really walk the entire flea market (honestly I spent majority of my times at my aunt’s movie/dvd booth). This is the place where majority of my spending money went to.
Taking pictures are not allowed so we were not able to get many photos, good ones to be honest.

The wedding I went to was around the corner from there, well, the ceremony, that is. I never went to Hmong Town though, hehe. But thanks for the pics
Haha, i only stopped by there for a moment to eat. It was pretty late so majority of the shops were close and probably were close the whole day due to the tournament.
I wanted tos pend more time there but i couldn’t. I only took couple of shots too, but didn’t know it wasn’t allow. haha Uh oh. Oh well.
There was one store that i could get used too tho! haha. My dramas….*wonders off*…
Thanks for the pics, I would love to visit to see their selection of handbags.
Nye, they had a very nice and different selections of handbags in fact Hlee and I each bought one! I’ll blog them for you!!
Thanks, I would love to see what you guys bought.
I never go there unless I’m craving for some Hmong food or need a new Hmong movie to watch. They over charge on their items. I can fly down to LA or San Fran for cheaper stuff. I know it’s about the same cost from here to there (LOL) but I save more money I think. Hmong people hate bargaining too. And it’s funny how you called it Hmongtown. I guess I can see why but it’s still funny cause we locals don’t call it that.
Lovely, I called it Hmongtown because there’s a big sign in front of the market with the sign “Hmongtown”.. ahaha.. But I love that place, I think we went there like almost every single day, okay not really almost every single day, but we went there a lot, my aunt and uncle has a booth there so we go almost every afternoon to help them put up their movies. THe food there was amazing!
I guess I haven’t been there that much to notice that sign. lol I must keep an eye on that the next time I go there. And yes, parking sucks. The owner gets a lot of money from all the rented vendors, he could atleast fix the parking lot alittle better. That’s what I hate about going to Hmong shopping centers. Parking sucks. But yeah, that’s MN’s main attraction if you want to see and taste Hmong culture.
