July 4th Hmong Freedom Tournament, St. Paul MN
Posted on 14 July 2010
It’s been a very long time since I’ve been to St. Paul Minnesota and the Fourth of July Hmong Freedom Tournament event. I have to say this year had been a great success with lots of Hmong people (like always) and I had a great time during this event. Saw a lot of “famous” Hmong celebrities and a few friends and spend lots of money!
Below are photos from the event, these are just photos from the game sections, none of the merchant sections nor the stage since I didn’t spend much time at the stage area. If you think that’s a lot of people you haven’t seen nothing yet, that’s only a small area of the event.

Wow, the images might be a tad too big Ze, since it’s pushing over the side bar.
But I can see everything now. I love Asian people, they know how to utilize their umbrellas, using it in rain or shine.
Nye, photo is fixed! Sorry I was really tired last night and didn’t even double check the post!!! Thanks for pointing it out!! I agree, Asian people sure do know how to use their umbrellas! I am one of them too! LOL
Photo Looks great now. I still feel awkward using umbrella when it’s not raining out.
Still crowded. Glad that GA/NC women volleyball took 1st place again – that’s four years in a row!!!!!!!
How nice!! Congrats to them! GTO got 4th I believe.. Im sure you know that already.
I didn’t even make it out there. It was just too humid. I stayed home with the nice AC. My friends went and they said it was so humid that when they were eating, it’s like they were sliding off their chairs. Lmao That’s so gross but I can see why. Haha I also bought VIP tix for Sounders but sad to say, I was too pooped out from partying all weekend that I wasn’t in the mood to go so I sold it. I so regret it though. =( Glad you came and had a blast.
Lovely, First I have to say, if you think that the MN weather is HUMID, you would not be able to live here in GA!! Man I really missed the MN weather when I came back to our HOT HOT HOT HUMID air here in GA!! It was funny how my cousin was telling us how it’s so hot and humid there and she was going to die if we stayed outside any longer, my sisters and I just looked at her and laughed because we were enjoying the very nice weather. We didn’t think it was humid at all (because we came from the south and our humid air is 10 times worst). I partied a whole lot when I was there although I wish I had more time to do that. How much did you spend on the Sounders VIP tickets? I didn’t now there was any VIP tickets, but I was right behind VIP so it was all good. They thrown an amazing concert!!! I have more videos which I’ll upload them soon.
I was in NC last summer and I must say, it was very HOT and humid. I got an ugly tan from it too. My sister-n-law from Laos said that it was about the same weather they have but theirs is a little more humid. I was like…”are you serious?!! I’m about to passout from heat stroke here.” And they still wear long sleeves. I couldn’t handle it so I put on some short shorts and tank tops. Didn’t care who was looking. Haha With our weather always changing, we’re not used to it eventhough it happens every year but you forget. lol It’s always the opposite though. In the winter time in Cali, the locals says it’s too cold but we MNs says it’s perfect or even too warm.
I bought my VIP tickets a month ahead from my bf’s cousin. It was $30. All she did was called the number on the flyer. They originally didn’t have that section closed off but the VIP booths were all sold-out so they decided to do that in the middle of June. The VIP section was the front row section. I don’t know why they even did that. Thought they were going with the club/concert vibe. Should’ve left it first come first serve. They probably just wanted more money and they know people will buy it too cause of the Sounders’ comeback. They got the venue for free and Epic just took the liquor money so they banked alot from all the tickets and VIPs.
