Blooms From My Plumerias!!

Posted on 08 July 2010

I know I should be posting about my vacation, everyone is waiting on my take about Minnesota and my entire trip, but I am very tired today and both my arms are very very sore!! I had just gotten back from the doctors today and I had two shoots, one of my left arm and one on my right arm so I am going to do a quick blog today and then call it an early night to rest my arms so I can work tomorrow. After that I’ll get back to my normal blogging and it’ll be all about my Minnesota trip and all the cool fun things I’ve done and bought and yes lots and lots of pictures, well no not really, but lots of pictures. I didn’t do any photography related photography, they are more of snap shoots.

But yes, I returned home on Tuesday night to find a pleasant surprise!!! My plumerias had gotten so big with lots of beautiful strong leaves and one of the two plants even have beautiful blooms!! I am so proud of myself!! Two weeks ago before I left to Minnesota they were doing well, but with less leaves. I purchases these two plumeria plants when I went to Florida back in August of 2008, the last two years they didn’t thrive so well as I didn’t do a good job at taking care of it, I didn’t put it into a new pot so the plants can grow; this year I went ahead and purchased two huge pots and lots of soil and re-pot the plants, they are now glowing with beautiful strong leaves and one of them are now blooming with beautiful and wonderful fragrance white plumerias with a yellow center! Theses are not the first set of blooms, on the soil of the plants there are some dried fallen flowers as I am sure they had already bloomed while I was gone, which I was expecting it since when I left they were showing signs of blooms.

I cannot wait for more blooms. One of the plumeria will not bloom this year, but I hope for lots of blooms next from both trees!! I am thinking about keeping them in these same pots for next year and then after that I’ll find bigger pots for them. But I may just change my mind and re-pot them again next year. Again I am loving these beautiful fragrance plumerias!!

And yes I did water them as soon as I took these pictures!!!

They are really pretty, I’m thinking about changing my avatar photo back to the Champa flower. I saw the plant at the temple but didn’t have any room in the car to bring back.

How much did you buy the trees/plants for? Do you know a site where I can order them since I live in a four seasons climate?

Lovely, when I bought mines they were actual trees and not cuttings so they were a bit more expensive, I must had bought them around 30-40 each. I don’t really remember since it’s been a while.

The first time I bought some cuttings, I didnt do a good job at them and unfortunately i have no green thumb so they didn’t last too long. But you can actually order many of them online. here are a few websites.

Thank you so much. I’m in love with these flowers and thought it was impossible to get them, dumb me forgot the miracle of the internet. lol Do you prefer the cuttings or the actual tree itself? I’m quite lazy so which one is easier to take care of? lol
