Movie List of 2010

Posted on 05 June 2010

My trip to MN is coming up in two weeks thus I am very excited, I need this vacation, I really do! Speaking of which, I really need to start packing!

Here are previews of some movies that will be released during the July 4th Tournament event in St. Paul MN this summer. I hope to be able to get my hands on these movies while in MN. These movies looks very interesting and good, I am looking forward towards getting these movies. Let’s hope I can so I can review on them.

from the preview of all these movies I might have to watch it with a few boxes of tissue papers!!!

“Paj Nyia Txoj Hmoo” (Pa Nhia’s luck/fortune/destiny….which ever sound better to you)
film by Moua Lee
Starring Dib Thoj, Kos Lis, Npis Yaj, Ntxhoo Lis, Suav Hawj, Nplaim Yaj
Director of Photography: Mark D. Lee
Written and Directed by: Moua Lee (an amazing Hmong director!!)

About (Credit to pajnyiaj):::A powerful, moving, and inspiring love story…

Paj Nyiag was not the “son” her abusive and unloving father wanted. Her ailing mother added more burden and created and excuse for him to marry a second wife. As a result, he divorced her mother and abandoned Paj Nyiag. Sorrow and the emotional fracture of abandonment takes its toll when her mother passed away. Now she is at the mercy of her uncaring aunt and uncle. Facing life with tears and a broken heart, she asks why God would give her such an awful fate.

NEXT…..

“Journey to the Fallen Skies” aka “Taug Lis Yeev Mus Qab Ntuj”
Film by Birdseyevue
Starring Wa Yang, Khais Vaj, and Dib Thoj
Directed by Bryan Vue and Mong Vang

About:::to be honest, I am still unsure of what this movie is about, but it looks like a very touching and moving movie! I am not 100% sure if it’ll be released this July, but I hope so!!!

EDIT (06/12/2010):: I have received confirmation that this movie will not be released during the July 4th Soccer Tournament event but will be due out on either Labor Day or Thanksgiving. This confirmation is from the Producing team.

NEXT…..

“No Ti Txha” (Cold To The Bone)
A Chai Lor Film
Starring: ????
Directed by????
About::::no information found, but my impression from the preview, this movie is about a man and his fate after he got into a car accident which left him paralyzed. His wife left him and he was sent to a rehab. He then was taken care by a young nurse who had helped him back on his feets again. The love between him and his wife and his new woman, the lady who had given him hopes again…… That’s just my impression from the preview, looks like a movie I’ll have to watch with some tissue papers!

NEXT….

“Tus Ntsuag Kub” (it’s hard to translate this title!! the main meaning, I believe it means “The Golden One”, I believe the title is referring to the first wife as being the Golden person in his life, read the “about” to understand my meaning)
Production: KVT Liquid Pictures
Starring???
Directed by???
Featuring Pagnhia Xiong’s newest song from her upcoming album

About::: I have no infomation on this movie, but from the sound of this, this movie is about a man who married the perfect wife by his mother’s request, he than after marriage found another woman. Will he picked his wife who had nursed him into life when he was shot and who had always been by his side or will he picked his new wife, who may not be the “pefect” one…

first, from the looks of it, looks like the hmong movie indust. has taken another huge leap this year in cinematography…can’t wait for these to come out…

second, i love moua lee’s movie titles and this one looks interesting. although i’m a fan of moua lee, my most intriguing movie is Journey to the Fallen Skies, it has the potential to be a really good thriller [as the latter part of the trailer suggests] or it’ll just be too complicated and the movie ends up all over the place [like the latter part of the trailer suggests].

Peter, I do agree, the Hmong movie industry had taken a huge leap, their movies had been improving and more up to date now!

I enjoy Moua Lee’s films, he seems to always knows how to touch the heart with his movies!! I can tell this one will be another good one.

Paj Nyiag Txoj Hmoo and Journey to the Fallen Skies are two most anticipating movies for me thus far! I cannot wait for J4 now!

Wow moze, You sure got a good list there. Paj Nyiag Txoj Hmoov seem svery pleasing. I’ll have to go out and find that movie. The rest, do bother to tell me how they were. I tend to stay away with story lines that has to deal with the marriage between the man and his wifes. blah…

Tong, I had emailed the producer guy and he said that this will be an actual movie but will not be due out until maybe Labor Day or Thanksgiving. Regardless, it looks like a great movie!
