Song Translation::Lub Ntiaj Teb Tshiab

When I first heard this song, I was a bit skeptical about it, but after listening to it a few more times, I grew to love the song, I just absolutely love the lyrics in this song, or more like the strong meaning of this song (but really truth be told, this is only a girl’s fantasy, no guy will ever do this much for a girl, but who said we girls cannot dream on?)

Anyways… I normally do not like too much robotic autotune, but for some reason I actually thought the autotune really helped this song out. I some how thought the autotune gave Wave a strong voice (all thanks to autotune?) and makes this song even more powerful. Normally I hate rock songs with autotune, but it didn’t bother me one bit. I actually enjoy the mixture of the autotune and the heavy metal beat to this song. I thought Wave did a great job mixing this song. Let’s say if he was to had sang this song with out the autotune, this song would had been somewhat bland, and lets say if he was to have this song with the autotune but took away the heavy metal part of the song, it would had been a very bland song as well. I guess Wave won me over on this song with the crazy mixture of autotune and heavy metal.

Truth be told this is the first song I’ve ever heard form Wave (or so I think, I heard too many Hmong songs and not know the title, the artist, or even both). But I did a little search on him, not much success because we are talking about a Hmong band/singer guy, not no American band or other big time rock/pop/rNb band/singer so finding his music and information is not as easy as thought. Anyways, I listened to maybe two of three of his new songs that will be coming out with this album and I honestly do not like it. Too much autotune, remember I did said I am an old fart (not really, just my music taste) thus I am not much into autotune.

One thing I have to rant about this song!!! I HATE THE ENDING!!! I feel like I was left on a cliff, HANGING! I wish he would had added the last “Wb lub ntiaj teb tshiab” to the end of the song to give it a complete song, I felt like he really left me hanging without putting that part into the ending of the song! If I am good at mixing I would had totally just put that in, but oh well, I guess I’ll just have to not pay attention to the song once it reaches the ending.

So this is one of the many few songs I like with autotune, crazy but I am not as old as I thought! Speaking of which, I am starting to get the quarter life crisis!! Ahhhhh! So for the next few months, if I start to get a little crazy and overly bothered, don’t mind me, it’s just my quarter life crisis kicking in.
