I’ll be taking a Trip to St. Paul Minnesota!!

Posted on 18 April 2010

I haven’t been back to Minnesota in a few years so this year, I’ll be heading to St. Paul Minnesota in exactly two months for a nice long vacation! This trip had been confirmed since early March of this year when I had purchased my plane ticket, but it was too soon to announce it on here, so I though I’ll wait until my two month marks.  So I have exactly two months before I leave on this trip, I’ll start to pack maybe in 4-6 weeks from now, I like to pack early so I’ll be sure I have everything I need.

For this trip to St. Paul Minnesota I am taking my two younger sisters with me, no turning back since I’ve already purchased our tickets back in early March. We’ll be heading to MN in mid June and return after the July 4th celebration (Hmong Freedom Celebration and 30th Annual Sports Tournament) in St. Paul. We’ll be in MN for two and a half weeks, I know it’s such a long time, but I hope that we’ll have a great time and our days will be filled with adventures and great family times.

I am excited, very excited! We’ll also be spending father’s day with my uncles in MN too! We’ll celebrate it here in GA with my dad a week earlier then when we arrive in MN we’ll also celebrate it with our uncles! I cannot wait to spend time with my uncles and my cousins there in MN!!

The trip had not been put into great details, but I do know that on the July 4th weekend my cousins from CA and my best friend from WI will meet me in MN and we’re going to have a great time together! I cannot wait to meet new people and have a nice and relaxing vacation!!

Anyone has any suggestions what I should do and where I should go once I go to MN? I do know that I am going to try the new Hmong buffet, “The Rice Palace”!!! Besides that, what can I do and where can I go? I haven’t been back to MN in about 4 years!!

If any of you MN , WI or any readers happens to see me in MN or even during the July 4th celebration, don’t hesitate to come up to me and say “HI”!!! I would be more than glad to talk and say “HI”!!!

Hello! Just a random reader and fan or yours! ^_^ Since you’re into photography, I recommend you make your way to either Taylor Falls, Minnehaha Falls, or even Duluth (2 hr drive north)…but I promise you, the scenery is MAJESTIC and ABSOLUTELY HEAVENLY!

The rides at the MOA is always fun (especially if you have a drink or two during Happy Hours at the many bar/restaurants) ^_^

Perhaps I’ll see you at the tournament! Take care!

      Pajdib,
Thanks for the suggestions! Minnehaha Falls and Duluth is already on my MUST GO, MUST SEE list, so I will make my way to those sites and locations for photo shoots and enjoyment purposes. I love myself a nice nature scenery, it really makes me feel at peace! As for Taylor Falls, I had never heard of that falls before, but I will check it out and hope to make time for it!

I am not a big RIDE person and had been to MOA a few times before, but I am sure my two younger sisters will enjoy the rides, but they will not be allow to enjoy it with the drinks since they both are underage.

Once the time comes closer I’ll let you know which booth I can be spotted at and I am sure you’ve seen my pictures so if you do see me, please, do come say “HI”.

That’s plenty of time to travel around MN. And agree, Duluth is beautiful…well, further up is more beautiful like Goosebury Falls, Lutsen, and Grand Marais. You should camp out at Lamb’s Resort. It’s right on the shores of Lake Superior. Just beautiful!

In the cities: Hmong International Market (the Hmong flea market). Around that time we have our fireworks and another big event called Taste of Minnesota on Harriet Island in stp (same time as the Hmong j4). It’s free but food and parking is expensive! It’s worth the experience though. Go to UpTown, Lake Calhoun & Lake Harriet(they’re next to eachother). You can canoe through three lakes and get to see big pretty homes. Also, go to the rose garden at Lake Harriet.

Parties: Kindbeats “United”(if you’re looking for a classy environment of club parties), Trilogy & Chosen One (more of a young buck and hootchie crowd), Stargate-the Hmong club, and lastly…Sounders party!!!! Eeeek! Lol That’s the only party I’m looking forward to going. Haha

Bars: There’re lots of bars but if you want to see Hmong people, go to Malina’s Sports Bar and Moonshine. These are Hmong bars.

Sorry to write so much but hope you girls will enjoy your stay. MN welcomes you! =)

LOvely, I think the biggest party I am really looking forward to is The Sounder’s concert! I am dragging my best friend along with me and he’ll be so angry, but he’ll have to be my body guard for the night! LOL He has other plans but my plans will be more important, we can always do what he wants to after the concert, I am sure it doesn’t last all night with the concert!

As for the other locations I’ll see if I can check them out too. A night out and about would be nice… I know I’ll be going around the Hmong markets for I need to go purchase some Hmong items that I cannot find around here.

You’re making me really want to be in MN right now! But 2 more months I’ll wait patiently! Thanks for the information and suggestions!!!!

That’s just what and where my friends and I take my out-of-town buddies when they visit. To be honest, I live here and I hardly see those places. It’s more like..once a year or so. I go downtown and uptown a lot. That’s about it. All the cool places are not so cool anymore. Maybe we over did it. hehe But my mission for this summer is to find Minnesota. Nature is calling me. lol

And yes, the only party I’m looking forward to is the Sounder’s party/concert. I just LOVE them! Btw, Sounder’s tickets are now for sale and can be purchased online at Epic/online. (Epic Venue – Mpls, MN)

          Sunday July 4, 2010
          Doors open: 7pm
          Show starts: 8pm
          Show ends at midnight…I think.?.
          Advance: $20
          Door: $25

Btw, I don’t know about the other scenic places but Taylor’s Falls has lots of caterpillers around June so if you go, don’t get scared. We had Father’s day celebration there two years ago and my sis and I screamed the whole time. Lol

Make sure you girls go early cause Taylor’s Falls, Duluth, and everything pass that is a far drive.
