Song Translation: Txhob Tus Siab/Tsis Tus Siab

Here is a pair of my favorite songs… The original was sang by Maiv Muas back in the early 90′s and a few years later the famous Luj Yaj replied to Maiv Muas’s very famous song, also in the early 90′s. This is my favorite song from Maiv Muas, and also another favorite from Luj Yaj! Luj Yaj is one of Hmong’s top singer from Laos. He had many hits and had toured in many places such as the United States, France, Laos and Thailand. Luj Yaj’s earlier music were well known to both young teenagers and elders, even today many Hmong teenagers are still listening to his songs while elders are still dwelling onto his wonderful voice. I’ll have to admit, I still listen to his earlier songs, as for his new songs, they are not so much as “hit” song qualities anymore. I guess they say, once he passes his peek, he must slowly go down. But regardless, he had made many great Hmong hits and truth be told, I can sing along to almost all his earlier songs and there is a good chance I may just have all the songs too!
As for Maiv Muas, I am honestly unsure of, I know she came out with one album back in the early 90′s and made a few hits, but I am unsure of how many albums or what not. I do know that I have this particular album, I remember singing along to this song everyday when I was growing up. I remember growing up as a huge fan, but then I gues I had lost my Maiv Muas touch.
Both Maiv Muas and Luj Yaj were under the producer of S.T. Universal, Sue Thoj who founded S.T Universal was the very first Hmong individual who had made produced many albums of other individual singers, first Hmong movie producer and etc and movie dubber. I remember back in the days, S.T. Universal was one of the biggest and most famous Hmong production. humm, now I wonder what had happend to them or if they are still around making movies.
I know that Luj Yaj was under Herr’s Video Productions for a while after S.T Universal.

Whenever i hear this song, it reminds me of that Indian movie, Ncha thas nis. Not sure if you can sound it out moze. haha But it just reminds me of that song sine they place that song alot in the Hmong dubbed version. Good song though, but i never really paid attention to the lyrics, just like the melody to it. hehe

Love it……Tsis Txhob Tu Siab…every time I hear this song…it reminds me of growing up and the innocence we had in us when we were all younger. It also reminds me of my parents….keep posting up these wonderful Hmong songs. ^-^
