4×5 Film Camera: Jewelry

Posted on 28 January 2010

This week for my Commercial Photography Class we shot jewelry for as our 3rd assignment. I thought I did fairly well with this assignment considering I worked alone with no assistance. Instead of shooting this assignment on Wednesday, my normal shooting class, I shot it on Tuesday morning after my Portfolio Review. Normally we would shoot in a group of two or three people, but because I wasn’t able to attend class on Wednesday I shot during my free time and had no assistance. I had to do most of the work myself, such as adjusting the lights, metering, testing, calculating the exposure, closing down and opening up the aperture and etc. I had our teacher assistance Kathy check my work to approve it before I shot it, besides that it was all on my own.

Because my subject matter was fairly large, it was an easy assignment. I was able to focus and expose everything without getting much of a headache.

Enjoy the image. It’s a photo of a more modern Hmong Neck Piece to go with the Hmong outfits.

By the way, I finally used the schools scanner, or it would had been another crappy quality
