Portfolio Review
Posted on 26 January 2010
It was a rough morning! Why… Well first off, it was great that I was able to sleep in today, I didn’t arrive to class until 9am, so I had an extra hour of sleep on this Tuesday morning, and I am normally at school by 8am every Tuesday morning. On my way to school as I was trying to get off the exit from I85 to Sugarloaf Parkway, my nose started bleeding. We’ll it took a bit longer for my nose blood to drip down since I have bloody nose so often that I knew it was coming so I slightly tilt my head upward so the blood wouldn’t drip, mind you I was still driving trying to get off the exit. Well I couldn’t hold my head back any longer since I started feeling the blood going down my throat, believe me, it’s a nasty feeling and taste. I needed to be safe so I ended up putting up my left hands under my nose so the blood would drip onto my hands and not my clothes, oh and at the same time I drive a 5speed stick shift too. I had to drive with one hand and shift all together. Anyways when I finally made a stop at the light right off the exit I looked over and saw some unused napkins and I had used that to stop the nose bleed. Horrible morning I say!
Okay, enough about the nose bleed, today was my portfolio review, and believe me, the nose bleed did not help me and my nervous self one bit! I was convinced that today was going to be a horrifying day, but I guess it wasn’t so bad. LOL… Anyways, so I went to school an hour early for my portfolio review and we ended up starting early for it. The portfolio review wasn’t as bad as I had thought it was going to be. Two of the professors look at our work since the start of the program (whatever pictures we want to be in our portfolio) and they would pick out portfolio quality images for our portfolio. I was the first one to go so I guess they were very nice to me. I thought the portfolio review went well, my teacher’s biggest advice to me was to keep shooting and to not rush my shoots, I need to focus on my shoot more when I am shooting and not have to worry about my other responsibilities during the shoot that is not photo related. She’s very understanding and knows that I work full time as well as attends school full times so she understands my rushing (aiyo, not good on me).
Over all they picked a few, but I only remember a couple of the ones they picked since they star it under bridge, but I have the older version of Bridge therefore I can’t see which one had been stared. But here are the few that I do remember them picking out.
This last set of photos from my open assignment; at least one of these photos will go into my portfolio along with those that was already picked and the new ones to come. There is no telling that one of these photos may be knocked out with better ones added on or what not. All I can say is, time to shoot, shoot, shoot and more shooting! I still have a lot of photos to add onto my portfolio! And I have to shot different categories!!!

WoW! Driving a manual on a busy morning to school with a bleeding nose isn’t an easy task. I’m glad you’re ok. Moze, your photos are awsome. I know you’ll do great!
Some day you had, I never have a nose bleed before, I guess that’s a good thing.
You’ve some nice collections, I like the Yosemite one a lot, would look great as a poster.

Bee, It sure wasn’t easy! but I made it!
Nye, Nose bleeds are not great at all. I haven’t been getting many as of late, but last summer, I must of had one everyday. well almost everyday. Not the best feeling ever. i went and got it checked out, I didn’t like that doctor very much, but he said it wasn’t anything. My teacher really likes that picture as well, if that picture made it for the gallery show, then it’ll be blown up, and I hope it’ll make it!
haze, LOL haze, yes you did.. I actually wanted to do more studio shooting, I’ll have to find the time to check out some lights from school. As for the picture of the second girl, it’s only a “place holder” for now.
Your landscape photography is outstanding
