Hmong History between 1855-1873

Posted on 24 January 2010

I found this amazing video (with subtitles) on yourtube, I thought it is an educational and interesting video that everyone should watch. It’s a short clip of the history of the Hmong people between 1855-1873.

In this video, the female voice you will be hearing is of the Hmong Chinese Dialect, listen to her tone, it sounds a lot like a Chinese language, but when you hear the male voice, he sounds very different from her, he is a Hmong person who is from Laos/Thailand/United States and of the White Dialect which sounds completely different from the Hmong Chinese dialect. It is very hard to understand people of the Hmong Chinese Dialect, but for this lady, it wasn’t so hard to understand her.
