I am really liking this song… I got my hands on this song today and the song is called “Piv Txoj Lus” from The Sounder’s unreleased album. The song  title translates to “Let’s just say”. It’s hard to actually give the meaning of the title of this song, but the song title is suggesting old saying that was said by the elders to teach the youngsters life lessons.

I would totally translate this song but then I don’t have the Hmong lyrics and I have’t been able to talk to Sara lately so once I can, I hope she wont mind writing the song lyrics for me to translate.

This means I really need to find a Hmong class so I can learn how to read and write in Hmong fully. I can read Hmong but my Hmong writting skills are horrible.

If you guys don’t know yet, The Sounders are my all time favorite Hmong band!

Watch for their newest album due by late this year or early next year! I can’t wait to get my hands on this album!!!!

It sounds really good, and to me the Hmong music sounds so much like Chinese music to me, I guess it’s because I don’t understand the lyric.

Nye, I see where you are coming from, but then again I differ, and again, I’ll have to be bias about it. LOL But I don’t hear any similiarity, I thought our language is more closely related to Thai and Laos than to Chinese. Here is the link to the lyrics and translation
