Hmong Moua New Year Party
Posted on 18 October 2009
As you all know last nigth was our Hmong Moua New Year Party and to my surprise we had a good turn out, the room was super packed and it went pretty well. Doors open at 2pm, but I didn’t show up until 3pm, I had to be the greeter for the night, so majority of the night I was standing at the door welcoming our guest. It was a great experience and also an Honor for my Uncle to ask me to be the greeter.
We had people from MN, MI, NC, SC and GA who came to our party, a lot of the big name MOUA elders showed up and I was honored to greet them.
For the first 3 hours I was wearing my Laos outfit and then after 6pm, I changed into my black dress. I worked the whole night and was finally free from “working” at about 9:30. whew! By then, I was too tired to do much, so I only took a few photos. I also had one dance, with an old High school friend.
I’ll shutup and you guys can enjoy the boring photos! Enjoy!!

All the girls except for 3 are Hmong Moua girls.

sorry guys, after running around doing crap load of works I was worn out by the time I was free from working therefore I look super tired and torn up! LOL ALL MOUA GIRLS (except for Emily, she’s my dad’s sitster’s daughter, hmong Vang), firl on the other end of me.

THe guys were being dumb.. all Moua guys except for Douchi

Me looking tired as heck from all the running around working and etc

I was hoping to see the Hmong outfit that you’ve been working so hard, but the Lao outfit looks nice on you also. Thanks for sharing your boring photos, just kidding.
I meant to ask you this yesterday but why not wear Hmong? It’s a Hmong event party, not Lao. But I know the answer
Hmong outfits are just too heavy but you could have worn the modern one! I love your black dress!
Hey…thanks for sharing. You look great. I heard the party was pack and a good turnout. I see my nephew on your 7th pic along w/the other GA party crew. lol…
That’s my nephew Tilong- The baldy next to Bobby in the light blue shirt. lol. I would have came but my son had a late baseball game that day so we didn’t want to rush since it is like an hour long drive even though I heard it didn’t really start ’til late anyways.
Nye, the hmong outift is still being worked on. I did somewhat finished it, but the shirt was a bit toooo small so i had to remake it, this time, my friend’s mom is going to do it for me since I messed up the first time. It should be done soon and I will wear it for the Hmong New Year and pictures will be posted! I felt like I was wearing a bag when I had the Laos outfit on since it was a bit big on me.
psh, totally no gonna wear Hmong clothes!! LOL But I’ll wear Hmogn clothes for the New Year in a few weeks!
which one is your cousin? I only know Bobby and Gideon in that picture, i’ve never seen the other two guys before! Why didn’t you come to the party? It was super packed and had an awesome turnout!!! Very yummy food too, i helped cook =)
