my movie review: pauj kev ntsim siab
Posted on 06 August 2009
Good day good day good day to all! Okay I am back with full force at blogging once again. I guess that little mini break was good. No more ranting and if I do want to rant, it won’t be like the past two rants. LOL but my connection is really slow right now and it’s bugging me. I might just end up ranting about that. LOL
I’ll do a translation of this song when I get my friend to write the Hmong lyrics for me
Cha her sang this song I believe. It’s his voice.
I had watched the movie “Pauj Kev Ntsim Siab” (Revenge) a few weeks ago and had wanted to do a review on it, but with my storm, I hadn’t been able to, so here I am back to myself so here I am with my movie review. This movie casted Cha her, from the movie “Jao Fah”, in this movie, it is about a war veteran who his girlfriend had married someone else, he is now in love with a girl he is forbidden to marry. There was a curse set upon the two families stating that if the family ever wed, they will not experience a good life and everyone around them will suffer. Cha ends up marrying this girl because he decided that he must run away from his village, if not, Fong will come back and kill the village people. Fong married Cha’s ex girlfriend and is now a outcast of the village. Cha married his girlfriend and then many things starts to happen like the people who loves him slowly gets haunted down by the solders of the enemy and what not. Fong and his wife flee but at the end that solder killed his wife and children so he is set to seek revenge for his wife and son, and all his village people.
I honestly think this movie was too similar to “Jao Fah” and this movie had no real point or no real storyline. I felt like they decided to just make this movie fast since Jao Fah was such a great success. I must be wrong, but that’s what I believe and feel. This movie would have had more potential if only they had built the storyline stronger and take out some un-necessary plots and story. They made Cha seem as if he was this super incredible guy who is the only person who can beat the enemy. The story line wasn’t developed enough to keep me interested and to keep me watching. I swear I thought it was another Jao Fah movie when I first saw the title, cover and the beginning of the movie.
Cha Her is very handsome and he does great with his acting skills, but after watching this movie, he is somewhat starting to get on my nerves. Yes, you heard that right. I feel like he is trying too hard to be that perfect phaj ej (p’ek) and sometimes he does over do his acting and it just seem to unbelievable. I just wish he would relax at times and be more natural. Sometimes I feel like his speaking voice is just too soft and again, overdoing it.
Our funny guy Mr. Washington (Tsab Lauj) of (Kuv Txiv Tsis Kam Laus) as a lot of his fans calls him finally got a good and serious but small role. He had always been playing the role of a “slower” person yet he is very funny and fun to watch. This time he has a more serious role as one of the guy who helped our Phaj Ej save the children from the evil Thai enemy. His role isn’t so big, but hey, it’s nice to watch him play as a “normal” person.
I guess I would give this movie a ummmmm 6 out of 10? I don’t know, I just can’t seem to put the perfect number for it, and I just didn’t like it so much. I am sleepy (since I’ve been sleep deprive) I’ll try to do the caps for this movie tomorrow when and if I find time.
OOOOHH OOOHH.
and I heard that there is a chance of JAO FAH part 3!!! I hope there will be a Jao Fah part 3 becuase I felt as if part 2 ended without ending the story of our Phaj Ej and Nag Ej. I Felt like at the end of part 2, we were left hanging with their love story. I hope that part 3 will be made and be out soon so we can see how our Phaj Ej will find our Nag Ej. Again, it’s all rumors at the moment, but I hope it’s true!!!!
