The Fatality

As always I got a hold of this Thai horror film and decided that I should do a individual review on it. Boy I’ve been doing reviews on a lot of movies. Anyways, Moze (Mo-Z… ehehe a lot of people think it’s pronounced MOZE) isn’t so great when it comes to horror films. Horror films and I don’t get along to well. I always have to find a very very good reason to watch a horror film, but then Laj Siab and I do movie review for HMB every weekend so this was a pick of the movie we wanted to review on.
Blah I’ll do my individual review here and then later when she call me I’ll record our audio review. Ahaha, I do t that often anyways. I guess it’s another way to keep my blog with different topics and category.
Okay… enough with my gibberish and here is the review…
As I’ve stated above, horror films and I are almost enemies, but then I pulled myself together and watched this movie, “The Fatality”. I believe it’s a Thai film with Chinese cast. I thought this movie was very confusing at first; I was left confusing as to what was going on and what not. Throughout the first half of the movie I felt like a part of the movie was missing and it was a bit slow to my liking. It wasn’t until towards the end that I finally understood what exactly was going on. It was very “different” and very “weird” for me. I was confused and felt lost as I watched the movie wondering to myself “umm okay? What exactly is going on?” Finally like the last 30 min of the film (the movie was only an hour and 35 minutes long) I understood what was happening and going on. I thought it was weird how ghost were just following him and there was nothing from the beginning of the movie to explain it why.
The acting was great, I swear the girl (the only girl in the movie, not sure if you’ll consider her a n’ek or n’rai) looks like Jasmine from Oum Ruk (Chain of Love, starring Ann and Ken, if anyone knows if it’s her let me know, cause it’s bothering me LOL). Everyone did an awesome job in this movie switching from Chinese to Thai and all the cast were great at portraying their characters.
I thought this movie left some potholes, I hate potholes. I don’t know why Assanee wants to kill his wife, well we do know that she cheated on him, but then it was weird also because his co-workers think he’s a great person and his wife despise him. Is it all because all she wanted was the money she can inherit if he dies? I just wish they could had made it a 2 hour long movie and explain it in more details, after all the movie was only 1 hour and 35 min, they could had expanded on some part of the story. Like the relationship between Nukun and Assanee so we can fully understand why their loving relationship became so deadly and why were they trying to kill each other. I guess it really is because she was cheating and she wanted his money. And the reason why Assanee ends up at the hospital, it would be nice if they were to explain that also.
I thought the title shouldn’t had been called “The Fatality” but maybe a different title like “Death is amongst us” or “who can determine death” LOL.. I don’t see how this title matches the movie.
Over all I give this movie a hummmmmm 8/10. I guess people who enjoy mystery and horror will enjoy this movie. Since horror is my most hated genre I didn’t find much joy in it. Lol. Ohhh and next week, it’s my pick on movies and I’ll be reviewing “Haunted Drum” starting Kade and Noon.. ahahaah I am such a hypocrite, I just finished saying I hate horror films but my pick for the next HMB movie review is a horror film. LOL
