Infrared
Posted on 08 March 2009
Here is a technique called “infrared” it only works on certain type of images, mainly on green plants. This is the image that I had turned in for my Advance black and white technique class. Tell me what you think since I will be missing out on the critique in class, you guys can critique me.
I had also cloned the bottom right of the corner for the infrared image b/c there were some branches there that were a bit distracting and cropping the image would change the whole image around.

Ze, the shot is actually pretty cool. I’m not too familiar with the technique you mentioned since I’m more interested in digital rather than film. However, I think the photoshop turns out great.
This tree and how it is display resembles that of a bonsai tree. In fact, bonsai trees are the replica of nature like this tree. Though, in home grown bonsai the unnecessary branches are cleared out to make room for perfection.
A suggestion: you could take out (via a technique you like) the death branches at the bottom of the plant to give it a more perfect look. Also, I think, this will really make the focus more direct on the top branches.
VIa, Thanks so much for your critique. My teacher and my classmates really like this photo and it had also maded onto the class gallery! whoohoo!Only a selected few makes it up there, the very good ones! yeppie..
Well I took this image from afar, I had to use my zoom lens cos I didnt want to walk all the way down to the bottom of the hill where the lake was and it was a bit steep so as myself who is very much lazy, i decided to stay where it was safe for me. aahaha.
This shot was actually digital but we used a film technique to fix it up. It was an assigment and I was glad i was able to get it right. Via, once again, thanks so very much for you honesty and critique!!!
I’ve never heard of the technique, but I’m learning all the photography lingual from you, lol.
I like the composition of the photo, looks like one of the water color paintings that I’ve.
