I’ve been hearing about this movie a lot lately and with all the awards I’ve heard they’ve been winning and what not, I decided to watch this movie and also, I am a big Bollywood movie watcher so that had also tempt me into watching this movie. I must say, this movie was worth the money. Although I still think $10.00 to watch a movie was a bit pricey, but then again, I didn’t want to download it hence I wanted to support them.

Slumdog Millionaire stars the new comer Dev Patel, and the sexy India model Freinda Pinta and also our famous Anil Kapoor, directed by Danny Boyd. I thought this movie was well written and gratefully acted, the dialogs were strong and the settings fit the movie perfectly. I thought this movie was very different from the normal India movies that I had been watching, but then at the same time it kept me interested throughout the movie.

The kid actors and actress were great, they were awesome at what they were doing and of course they were very much adorable. I must say, they show us the terrible and slum area of India and whew, poverty is terrible over there. I can’t believe poverty is so bad. Back to the movie, Dev was very “cute” in the movie. As I was telling my friend, he isn’t handsome, but he is very cute in a very adorable way. Frenda Penta was very very pretty in this movie.

I say I’ll give this movie a 9 out of 10. Everyone should really give this movie a try, even if they are not Bollywood movie watchers.

OMG, I love this movie. it’s one of the best movie of all time. I love the part where Jamal (age 13-14?) found his blind friend under the bridge. It’s the most beautiful scene ever. It was such a Danny Boyle shot too, if you watch “24 Days later”, the part where they are trying to get gas and then the zombies start running out of the dark corridors, it’s shot the same way.

The bird view indoors shot where Salim’s mob boss is coming for him followed by his groonies and Salim is filling the bathtub with money, that’s also a very Danny Boyle film signature. He uses the same camera technique over and over again, I love that man!

    The under bridge scene:

    “Dollars?”

    Jamal:”No, 100 dollars.”
The blind kid laughs, I love it.

    Blind kid:”Describe it for me”

Jamal:”There is an old man, with a pigtails for hair.”
I love how the blind kid chuckles and said,”Benjamin Franklin” with his Indian accent, it’s super awesome and very characteristic of that culture.

I heart the soundtrack too, after I watched the film, I went hunting for the soundtrack. I’m happy that A.R Brahman won an Oscar for his efforts.

For awhile, I was addicted to the O…Saya song. I especially love the “Dreams on Fire” song.

LYN–I haven’t seen any of Danny Boyd’s movie, and if I did, I wouldn’t know it. I am very bad with who directed what and I am not a big fan of action movies. I know that sucks. Ionly watch selected few. But yes it “Slumdog Millionaire” was one good movie! very very good!

ILARIAKIKO—It really was a good movie! well worth the time and money! I hated Samil as well, but then it’s only a movie and w/out his character the movie will be out of place.
