fawm kauv
Posted on 19 December 2008
I had made some fawm kauv the other day so thought I would share them.. I’ll get back to my normla blogging when I finish with all this crazy Christmas shopping and the busy schedule.

cook the garlic first, i love the taste of garlic

then add the ground beef, you can use ground pork if you like.

dont forget to chop the green onion, onion and cilantro

when the beef is almost ready add the oyster sauce and the black soy sauce

then cook add the onion

let he onion cook for a bit then add the green onion and cilantro

after it’s done cooking set it to the side and let the oil drain

now mix your flour, water and oil together

more mixing

heat your pan then spread a very thin layer of oil on your pan and then put a big spoonful of the mix in your pan cover it for a bit to let it cook

spread your meat on the sheet of fawm kauv

then roll it.. (i dont like the way my nyab rolled it but i dealt with it anyways)

and finished!!!!

served with my home made sauce

now enjoy the yummy fawm kauv

LADYOFDARKNESS—sure i’ll come visit you and make you some Fawm Kauv, but you’ll have to get me the airline ticket. A visit to FL would be wonderful ^_^
Looks like a Christmas treat to me.
Merry Christmas to you and your family mozemoua.
You should post up a recipe for the homemade sauce. I will greatly appreciate it.
JUNE—I’ll find the time to do a recipe for the homemade sauce.. Check back at a later date and i’ll be sure to put it up.. I’ll try to make it my next blog, if not, then i’ll get to it. I’ve been a bit busy with the holiday…
Oh, please, no more cooking lesson. Get with the entertainment news already.
OH YUM! Looks just like the Fawm Kauv I get at the Hmong Super Eggroll Kitchen in Sheboygan. I really need to learn how to make this. Come on though please, it’s been a year, what’s the secret sauce recipe?
Patrick, the sauce is not a secret, each individual makes it differently. I like to make mine differently each time as well, but in this picture for the sauce, I cook the sugar and when it melts I add water in there then let it cook and cool off. I buy a bottle of the chicken sauce from the asian market and pour some of that in a bow, mix it with some vinegar and fish sauce then pour the sugar syrup in the mixture and add a bit of water then mix it well with some green onion and cilantro. That’s it, very simple!
