From my finger to yours

It has always been said through history, stories, legends and folktales that two couples who are very much in love can be bond through life by drinking a drop of blood from each other’s finger. This practice is mainly used when two couples are in love but are forbidden to further their love thus they have no other choice but to drink each others blood to bond their souls together. This practice is called “Haus Ntshav Tes” which means to drink blood from each others finger.
When a couple “haus ntshav tes” they will poke each others index finger and drink the blood right off of the finger. Besides this soul bonding it also means that if one of the couple was to leave this earth before the other, the deceased lover may and will come after the lover who is still alive regardless of how his or her life may be. The promise to take the other lovers life was made when the blood was drank even if they did not state that they will come back for each other, “huas ntshav tes” itself is already the meaning of coming back for each other when one is first gone.
Because they are bonded through their soul the deceased lover will come and take the lover who is still alive’s soul so that they can forever be together in the afterworld or maybe get reborn to start their life together. Because this practice has been proven true through history and legends Hmong elders forbid this practice to be used anywhere.
