A cabin trip to the N. GA Blue Ridge Mountians

Posted on 13 July 2008

I had the chance to go up to the Georgia Mountains for a short cabin trip! It was so much fun! We had left on Friday night after work, didn’t arrive until about 10pm that night, and were there until Sunday morning. It was one of the best experiences I had ever had!

This is the first time I had ever really spent any times in the Georgia Mountains and it really took my breath away! When we arrived it was already dark, therefore, we had to just unpack and took a tour of our cabin and then cooked dinner which consisted of BBQ and one of my best dish. I was the chief for the entire weekend (besides BBQ, the guys were in charge of that), which I rather enjoyed. Dinner was served next to the creek with a bonfire going on and some beer in the mix. It was most amazing when as soon as we got out of the car we could hear the sound of fresh river water running. Nothing can beat the sound of rushing river as the leaves are turning its bright red and orange colors, but it was such a pity it isn’t fall yet, although I do rather enjoy the opportunity to play in the water thus the water was not cold at all, but perhaps perfect.

All I can say is everything about the trip was beautiful! The cabin was about two hours from home, and it was well worth the drive. We were able to just relax next to the river, play in the water, sit at the swing next to the river, or go fishing, although we had no luck at it. There were trails to go hiking, but to be truthful; we didn’t have the chance to go hiking since our trip was so short. We spent most of our times around the lake and the bonfire area where the hammock was placed.

Our cabin was stunning! I was surprised at how beautiful our cabin and its surrounding were. Our cabin was a 3 room two bath and a two story cabin. It was a little small, but we didn’t mind that at all. The back porch of our cabin out looks down to the rushing river and the bonfire area next to the river, it was absolutely beautiful. We may not have a view of the sun setting, but we got the sound of the river, and that made up for the missing sun set.

The trip really brought back a lot of memories! It brought back the memories of me as a little girl, and all our wonderful family camping trips back in California.

I look forward to going back to the cabins soon. It was an amazing experience, and I think everyone should really try it at least once.

I went camping twice and absolutely love it, and I should be planning a trip in our area because we also have beautiful mountains, and creeks. This place looks beautiful, I love the log cabin.
